The Arènes of Nîmes is the best preserved amphitheatre in the Roman world. The Maison Carrée is the only completely preserved temple in the ancient world. Inside, a multimedia show immerses visitors in the heroic past of Nîmes, using the latest effects. The visitor becomes one of the heroes of Nîmes and the Maison Carrée becomes a gateway to the past and history of Nîmes. The Tour Magne, i.e. the Great Tower, rises up at the highest point of the city, Mount Cavalier. It dominates the whole plain and provides a striking panoramic view of Nîmes. Visitors can discover the city as it was in Roman times thanks to a large display board.
